I grew up in Freeport, Maine and moved to San Diego after marrying my husband. I studied ecology as an undergraduate, and a love of nature and sustainability influence my artistic and teaching pursuits. After spending time living in Brazil and Spain, I earned an M.Ed. in Elementary Education and Creative Arts in Learning. For more than twenty years, I taught in public schools in Greater Boston and San Diego, and then in 2022, I stepped down to dedicate more time to supporting my mom.
More recently I have been exploring my roots in art. I consider creativity to be inherent in all people. To me, art in its many forms is a gift that was given to me by others who taught and inspired me, and I hope to pass it along to others.
I now live in San Diego with my husband and daughter. Alongside artwork, I also enjoy gardening and volunteering at The Glenner Center, which provides day programs for people living with dementia. Our family frequently spends time in Maine to visit my dad and have family get togethers.
